Nancy C. Cifelli, beloved wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday afternoon (July 19, 2015) at United Memorial Medical Center. She was 67 and resided in Batavia.

She was born July 26, 1947, in Batavia, NY, a daughter of the late Edward J. and Rosalind (Zeis) Hayes. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Gary and Robert Hayes.

Mrs. Cifelli was a member of Resurrection Parish, enjoyed pottery, collecting antiques, gardening, cooking and baking. She loved animals, especially her four-legged companions, Molly and Maggie. Nancy was a true inspiration for all that knew her, she took her illness in stride, battling every setback always with a smile on her face and a kind word to share.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, James J. Cifelli of Batavia; daughter, Lori (Kevin) Horkey of Minnesota and their children, Brooke C. and Logan James; step-son, Stephen (Chris) Cifelli of Washington and their son, Dylan; step-daughter, Debra (Roger) Toal of South Carolina and their children, Josh, Mitchell and Nathan; brother, Thomas (Brigid) Hayes of Batavia; sister, Patricia (William) Cultrara of Batavia; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Richard) Oshea of Le Roy; brother-in-law, Thomas (Karren) Cifelli of Warsaw; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22 at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC, 4120 West Main St. Rd., Batavia, NY 14020, where prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s site).

She will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery and memorials in her memory are requested to Crossroads House, 11 Liberty St., Batavia, NY, or Genesee Cancer Assistance, Inc., 16 Bank St., Batavia, NY 14020.
