I didn't think Steve actually graduated from BHS, but from a prep school. Regardless, he was well-liked by everyone, had a ready smile and was always a gentleman.

Prior to his moving on -school-wise- Steve and I were really close friends. He lived on Redfield Pkwy and I lived way out South Main Street across from Batavia Downs, except the T-creek was in between. We used to run around the store irritating all; even got to see where all those monetary transactions went ... right into his dad's office. We would also get together and sneak under the fence on Redfield to go watch the ponies from afar. Treated me to 'eats' at Stafford CC numerous times. When we (he) was old enough to drive, we used to 'cruise' Main Sreet in his Dad's caddy most Tuesday evenings. We had a mutual friend in little Dicky Wood who also lived on the Pkwy. Steve was one of my truly good friends 'back in the day', which was a BIG DEAL for I was mostly a loner.  I missed him terribly when he moved on to prep school. I realize this is not much of a eulogy, but perhaps it will be of interest to someone.

Steve and I were cousins, born a couple months apart.  We grew up together, hanging out on Saturdays.  We'd go to Peters' Delicatessen for Turkish Taffy and a 15 cent root beer ... maybe some pretzel rods.  Then, we might head to Adam Millers, to check out the latest bicycles and accessories.  Next, to Joe Rose's to look at novelties, like fingerlocks, or fake melting ice cream suckers.  Then,  we might go to Newbury's, to see the hamsters, parakeets, and canaries, down in the basement. Mid-afternoon, we could catch the matinee at the Dipson Theater. I can still remember THE BLOB, as the shapeless creature moved through the movie theater, surprising unlucky patrons by crawling up the backs of their seats and absorbing them!  Steve and I did Y Camp together ... Camp Brookwoods (NH) together ... Godfrey's Pond together ... a quick summer trip through parts of Europe together.  We shared a lot.  Steve was a friend, as well as a relative, and I miss him a lot.
