Batavia Daily News, October 26, 1976

Death of Charles C. Cullison, former athletic dierector and basketball coach at Batavia High School comes as sad news for his many friends and former athletes who played for him.

Mr. Cullison was in charge of athletics for 25 years, a grand tenure when Batavia High grid and court teams were oftentimes great

Besides his winning ways in coaching and his good guidance  of the department, Mr. Cullison had another attribute.

There came a time when the BHS football team was undefeated and untied and community interest mounted with resulting betting on the outcome of games. That situation is extremely bad when high school athletes are involved.

Mr. Cullison made it perfectly plain that it was a school team, not a city team, and would continue to be a school team without any outside interference, a decison of which everyone could be proud.
