Theodore C. Day

Theodore C. Day of Santa Fe, N.M., 87, who spent most of his 43 years in education as chairman of the history and social studies departments in the Batavia school system, died Thursday, March 6, 1997, at La Residencia Nursing Center.

Mr. Day was born in Red creek, N.Y. on March 10, 1909 and was raised in Livonia Center where his father was a Presbyterian minister.

He graduated from Clinton College in Hamilton and Cornell University.

Mr. Day began his teaching career in Webster before coming to Batavia.

Mr. Day was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Batavia for more than 40 years and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven, FL. He and his wife Mildred lived there prior to her death in 1995. He then moved to Santa Fe.

Mr. Day is survived by a son, John, of Santa Fe, two sisters-in-law, Marie S. Day of Raleigh, N.C. and Margaret F. Day of Oneida, and 11 nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a private service will be scheduled at a later date. Burial will be in Livonia Union Cemetery in Livonia Center.
