Peter and I were very close friends in high school, but lost track of each other when I went off to Hobart College. I can't remember where Peter went. Most of his post-BHS history was provided to me by Gary McManis. Surprisingly, he apparently became a Marine with a distinguished service record. I say surprisingly because the Peter I knew was exceptionally shy and nervous. He was also quite uncoordinated and had a very difficult time in Drivers Ed with Mr. JOHN Hanley SCOWLING at him every time he took the wheel!! I am delighted that he overcame these behavioral perclivities and served our nation with great courage. At BHS, we were both interested in biological research and, at that time, Peter had a much greater intellectual curiosity and genuine insight than I. He was also more mature, sending me a very interesting and friendly letter at Hobart, but signed it 'Love and Kisses'. With deepest regret, I mistook his attempt at humor and never answered. Sadly, I was never able to apologize to him.
